This week I’m sharing the tenth of sixteen stories from my upcoming release Love Scenes From the Black Marketa dark anthology.

This week’s excerpt is from Supers, a thriller set in a distant future when all superheroes have been declared outlaws and special teams like the one led by former soldier Mike are tasked with hunting refugees down.  Unfortunately, as Mike quickly learns, his team’s youth and inexperience may prove to be a real problem…

“Jesus,” Avery said.  “This place stinks.”

“Thanks for the observation,” Brad said with a sneer.  “Good to get the female perspective.”

“Fuck you,” she answered.

“Kids,” Mike said from the back of the room.  “Play nice, or I’ll have to separate you.”

“He started it,” Avery said in an intentionally whiny and high-pitched voice.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Haha! Just like a kid would say it. I guess Mike does have to separate them after all. 🙂

How soon does this release, Steven?

Thanks, Kim! Unfortunately for Mike, most of his team are a bunch of inexperienced tech nerds, which turns out to be sort of a problem.

It’s amazing how often being the boss also means being the Dad. ;D

Wow, I just had a painful flashback of 8-year-old me, trapped in the back seat between my two little brothers. Well done! 😀
