Welcome to Part 14 of Blood Angel Rising, presented to you 8 sentences at a time through Weekend Writing Warriors.  Check out the first twelve  installments here.

Last time, Rike had Monica at gunpoint and was drilling her about the whereabouts of Vincent Moretti, while something evil continues to stalk the house…

“He’s not here,” Monica said.

“Listen, Bitch…” Rike started, but Monica cut him off.

“He’s…not…HERE.”  A peel of thunder shook the house, and the bloody rain fell thick outside, filling the air with the stench of putrid meat and animal breath.  “Not anymore.”

“Then where the hell is he?” Rike demanded.

Monica couldn’t tell if Rike was just pretending to be this thick or not…if he was, it was a pretty convincing act.

The floorboards creaked on the other side of the door, sending a shiver up her spine.

Check in next week for Part 15.  Thanks for dropping by, and have a great weekend!
