Steve’s Progress Report: CITY OF SCARS, THE BLOOD SKIES OMNIBUS, and More!

Been a bit quiet on the blog here as of late.  Sorry about that, but I have a good excuse: I’ve been working my ass off.

* City of Scars is almost ready to go!  I’ve spent the past two or three weeks (it’s all a blur) doing the final edits and hammering out cover art details with the inimitable Barry Currey, and I have to say I’m thrilled with the results!  This book has been a looooooooooooong time coming (remember, I wrote the first draft roughly a decade ago), and I’m excited and more than a little nervous to unleash this one on the world.

If you signed up for the Cover Reveal event, you’ll be getting the information for your post soon.  If you signed up for the Release Event, expect your e-copy at the end of the week.

City of Scars releases on June 28th, with the cover reveal coming this Friday the 14th — be sure to swing back by and check it out!

In the meantime, let’s move onto to other news…

* With City of Scars petty much under wraps, I’ll be back to work on the Blood Skies Omnibus (Volume 1).  Every book to be included in the Omnibus is being completely re-edited, and while I’ve already worked through Blood Skies and Tales of a Blood Earth I still have two novels and a novella to take of; even then, I hope to have the entire project finished relatively soon.  Look for a July/August release.

Also remember that in addition to featuring newly re-edited work the Omnibus will also include an all-new novella, Crucifix Point, which features Cross and his team on an early mission taking place between Black Scars and Soulrazor!

* Once the Omnibus is wrapped up I’ll be back to work on Book 6 of the Blood Skies series, Chain of Shadows, which picks up right where The Witch’s Eye left off.  Cross and the team find themselves in a strange and dangerous land where they must contend with rival arcane factions and the dreadful shadow warriors called the Maloj.  Chain of Shadows is slated for a Fall/Winter release.

* Blood Angel Rising, my second horror novel, is also still in the works.  While I’d like to shoot for a Halloween 2013 release date, there’s a possibility this one may get pushed back until early 2014.  Stay tuned for details.

Enough babbling.  Be back on Friday to check out the AMAZING cover for City of Scars.  Barry really outdid himself this time — you won’t want to miss it!
