First off, thanks to everyone for helping to spread the word about the BLOOD SKIES and BLACK SCARS giveaways this past weekend. Over 2,000 copies were downloaded from Friday through Sunday, and sales have continued to roll along since, so all of the shout-outs and Re-Tweets are much appreciated!
Now, on to some news…
With just over a month until the release of SOULRAZOR (March 16th, I arbitrarily decided just now), it’s time to get some more information out there about Book 3 of the Blood Skies series. Chances are I don’t need to release any more excerpts, since most of my Six-Sentence Sunday efforts have consisted of little else, so in the coming weeks I’ll be taking a different approach with sneak peeks, starting with a short explanation of what the heck the novel is about.
First of all, here is the official blurb, revamped, revisited and, most importantly, revised:
The war continues…
Eric Cross and his team of elite mercenaries are the bane of the Ebon Cities. Armed with the cutting-edge arcane weaponry of the Southern Claw, Cross and his crew – Black, Kane, Ronan, Maur, Grissom and Ash – have become a veritable thorn in the side of the vampire armies.
Now the team is tasked with halting vampire activity near the remote city-state of Fane, where the Ebon Cities have teamed up with a former Revenger in search of a deadly weapon called Soulrazor.
To make matters worse, something sinister has happened to Cross, and the key to his salvation is somehow directly tied to the Ebon Cities’ new soldiers: a host of necrotic angels who bear traces of divine power.
Cross and his team must travel across a blighted wilderness and do battle with a vile array of enemies as they race not only to save the city of Thornn from total annihilation, but to rescue Cross’ very soul from an enemy more powerful than he could ever imagine…
SOULRAZOR has just as much action and adventure as the first two volumes of the series, as well a few added twists…like Danica Black taking the spotlight for a considerable portion of the book. And time travel. And angel golems. We’ll learn the identity of Cross’ spirit, and we’ll find out more about both Black and Kane’s respective pasts.
I’ll reveal the SOULRAZOR cover (of which there may or may not be two different versions) sometime in the next few weeks, as well as snippets about the new characters, the chapter outline of the novel, and some hints as to the where the rest of the series (Books 4-6) is going.
In the meantime, with any luck I’ll finally be able to bring you the BLACK SCARS print edition sometime in March… hey, only a few months late! [insert sound of pounding head on the desk here] It’s been a long time coming, but I’m sure that it will be worth it. Hopefully I’ll be able to make the SOULRAZOR print edition available much quicker.
Finally, tune back in later this week for another installment of THE GAMBLE, and subscribers to the Ebon Cities gazette will receive a double-dose of SOMETHING BLACK… later this month.
Have a terrific week!
